Wireless Internet Access
Wireless Internet Access service is wireless access to the Internet granted to the Customerss via the broadband wireless communication channel (without using landlines), with the terminal available at the user’s side supporting the wireless access standard or being connected with the external adapter of the wireless communication.
Wireless networks enable to transmit data in a quick, reliable and relatively cost-effective manner. Wireless Internet Access has all advantages of a dedicated line and is granted via radio channel that ensures permanent connection with an Internet provider. The given solution is especially effective in those regions where cable networks are underdeveloped or entirely unavailable.
The most evident advantage of wireless technologies is their mobility. Impossibility to link movable (i.e. mobile) subscribers is a fundamental disadvantage that the cable networks find impossible to eliminate.
Another advantage of wireless networks is of pure economic rather than technological nature and becomes apparent when networking remote subscribers in the circumstances where cables lay-out is economically inexpedient. These can be the subscribers who are either dispersed through the vast and scarcely populated area or those grouped in a remote site or a site of difficult access.
In the first case, it’s economically inexpedient to lay out cables for the subscribers’ access, and in the second case it’s economically inexpedient to install trunk cables (backbone network). The third advantage is the possibility of urgent immediate installation, just when the reliable connection is needed; laying out cable network requires enormous investments and lengthy time period since the cables need to be linked up to each separate flat or institution (so called “Last Mile”), and the automatic exchanges need to be re-equipped with the state-of-the-art electronic switches etc.
Apart from this, the world practices evidence that the production cost of the radio access system components is getting cheaper very fast. This tendency secures that their application will get the most potential during the nearest 10 years.
